You’ve seen the pictures, heard the stories, watched the amazing footage in a movie or TV show.
But then you look around and nobody seems to know any climbers, and you haven’t a clue where to begin.
Sit back, read on and learn about our Adult Beginner Course.

About the Adult Beginner Course
Canberra Indoor Rock Climbing is thrilled to be able to introduce you to the newest Olympic sport through our adult beginner course.
The course will teach beginners, basic to intermediate:
- How to safely and effectively train as newbies to the sport
- Climbing techniques
- Safety practices for outdoor climbing on small and big walls
The course is aimed at anyone new to climbing, or for people who have been climbing for a little while and want to hone their skills.
What’s included
The four-part course time varies.
Each week we will alternate locations between Mitchell and Hume so climbers can experience both facilities, developing their skills and styles.
Each climber will receive a one month pass that includes gear. You will have access to both facilities so you can put into practice what you’ve learned in coaching sessions.
We provide specialised beginner adult courses to get you introduced to the world of rock climbing. Our rock climbing course covers:
- How to prepare yourself
- What to expect
- Overcoming fear
As part of your development, there will be a light to medium body weight strength program during these sessions to help you develop your body for the course activities.
Cost
$160 per person
