We had an absolutely incredible day yesterday hosting the 2018 ACT State Boulder Titles sponsored by Mont Adventure Equipment.
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made the comp a success. In particular, we want to recognize the incredible team of setters that spent many late nights turning a mostly-ropes gym into a boulderer’s paradise. Shout out to Carlie LeBreton, Lindsay Barkley, Simon Stevens, Cory Cook, Dave Park, Gilbert Park, and Cait Horan. Cait, who led the setting team and has been setting in competitions for 18 years, said this was the most professional team she had ever worked with. Also a special thank you to Nomad Climbing and Sydney Indoor Climbing, who loaned us some of their holds for the routes.
Thank you to Gordon Kelly, the owner of Canberra Indoor Rock Climbing, for hosting the Titles despite the disruption to business as usual, as well as all the CIRC staff and volunteers who worked the event. We are also endlessly thankful to Casey DuBois, Dan Andres, and all the other photographers who captured the action and special moments of the event. We look forward to showcasing your amazing work on our media platforms.
Thanks to all the competitors and supportive spectators – you are what makes all the hard work worthwhile. We are endlessly inspired by the open, friendly nature of Australia’s climbing community.
And of course, thank you to our major sponsor, Mont, which provided many of the category prizes. Mont is a homegrown Australian company with all the gear you need for rock climbing and your outdoor adventures. Please support their business, because they support us.
